How do you turn a warm childhood memory into a modern, fully scalable Franchise Concept?
What we did:We took the purest moment of Greek daily life—a grandmother cutting a hot piece of traditional pastry pie for you—and transformed it into a complete, premium corporate identity, meticulously engineered to be replicated across 10, 50, or 100 stores without losing a single shred of its quality or identity.
“Bougatsou” is an authentic feeling of homemade care designed with mathematical precision: we replaced cold corporate jargon with grandma’s loving and humorous “recruiting,” making the core slogan “Eat, my child, eat” the very voice of memory.
The heart of our visual identity beats in grandma Bougatsou, a unique character we hand-drew and digitized into 9 custom thematic poses, fully primed for digital animation and social media micro-interactions. From the official, trademarked “Statue of Liberty” pose for storefronts and main packaging, to motion variations featuring grandma on a scooter for eco-delivery, meditating for coffee drinks, or in a swimsuit for summer campaigns, every single illustration serves a specific functional role.
To safeguard the brand’s franchise potential, we established a strict visual discipline of a 60/30/10 spatial color ratio (60% kitchen white, 30% morning-fresh mint, and 10% recipe-ink black), custom fluid typography, minimal in-store menus with integrated QR codes, and a zero-stock visual communication style utilizing natural light.
The crowning achievement of this extensive design work is felt in the Packaging Experience, where bags, boxes and cups turn into a live interaction with the customer through witty, character-driven copywriting like “Chew it, you’ll choke!” or “Late night again? I’m putting the kettle on!”.
