What we did: The overriding objective for the Fessatidou brand refresh was to honor a rich confectionery legacy dating back to 1950 while introducing a sophisticated, modern visual ecosystem capable of expanding into new retail markets.
To balance this deep-rooted heritage with contemporary appeal, we designed a striking typographic system and a dynamic visual identity that weaves together tradition and modern elegance. We paired this clean typography with a set of custom golden mandala based patterns that evoke a sense of premium quality, craftsmanship, tradition and artisanal celebration, elevating the confectioneries from traditional sweets to high-end gifts.
To bring this narrative to life across the product ecosystem, the branding seamlessly scales from individual consumer touchpoints to bulk distribution. For large-scale shipping and logistics, the typography and delicate repeating patterns wrap structurally sound cardboard shipping boxes. The culinary artistry behind the products is central to the brand story; the meticulous slicing of the almond-studded nougat blocks and the smooth, hypnotic whipping of the master meringue mixture highlight a rigorous kitchen process that results in perfectly uniform, wafer-layered confections.
The premium retail packaging line utilizes golden mandala patterns to create a cohesive yet distinct family of products. Individual stand-up pouches use the mandala motif as a proud base element to frame the product identity. This pouch system easily scales to accommodate different product variations, including larger sizes, specialty sesame pies, and traditional flat slabs. For on-the-go convenience, the identity transitions into sleek, portable snack bars that are effortless to unwrap and compact enough to tuck into a shirt pocket, balance with the tactile experience of handling the matte-finish small nougat packets and the bold, oversized presence of the maxi-sized product packaging.
By seamlessly merging decades of confectionery mastery with a luxurious geometric identity, the final design transforms Fessatidou into a timeless symbol of Greek traditional confectionery excellence.
